Kiwi Scraps

OMG!!!! I had sooooo much fun! What a great weekend!!!!

Kath, Hannah and I trecked off Fri for the loonnng drive to Sydney town. Mind you we were a bit excited and laughed and were silly the whole way (naaahh that wouldn't be like us!).

It was sooo wonderful to finally meet Marie and Lyn from EMM - they are just as I imagined, full of fun!

We were the first in line for registration (told you we were excited LOL!) then grabbed a quick dinner in the bar. The meet and greet session was fun. This lovely lady came over for a chat with a strong American accent who turned out to be Wendy Smedley! She was the most delightful, friendly person! I had to book in and do more of her classes :)

The Scrap Happy kick of was a bit of fun. A bit ott at times - but I won a prize for dancing around like a loony - just normal me really! We made a scrap happy journal to record things to scrap that make us happy - kinda the theme for the whole shebang really.

The make and take for the night wasn't really my kind of thing. A set of very bright postcards that were made into a mini album by adding a photo to the back to match the saying on the front - kinda cute, but BRIGHT!

As we were all exhausted we didn't stay and crop, heading back to the hotel for some sleep instead (not that we got much thanks to noisy neighbours grrrrrr).

Sat morning we headed over bright and early for Wendy's class. We must have looked soooo funny wheeling our totes through the car park - I had to take pics of course!

Wendy class was lovely we made a wall display with a scrap motto and some pockets to place our inspirations - I would show you a pic, but as you will discover I haven't actually finished a project so will have to do so later!!

The next class was Nic Howards Conversations. Nic is just gorgeous!!!! I had a ball and came away sooo inspired. Her classes were definately my favs from the whole weekend. This class was a little book made from journalling cards to wrtie down those funny little conversations you have with the kids, funny events etc.

From there we headed into Stacey Julians Finishing Line class. This was the class I was looking forward to most - but left a little flat. I wasn't really happy with the work I did (although the class was fun and I really enjoyed the process). I like to plan a little more in my scrapping and will take on some of the ideas now that I have a firmer idea of the results!

Well by this time we were exhausted (all this was done by 1pm!) so we headed back to the bar for lunch. If you are ever at the Mecure grab one of the Club Sandwiches - MMmmmmmm. The quick recharge and relax on the comfy couches was definately needed!

The last class for the day was back with Nic and her "Confessions" album. I just LOVE the way this one has turned out!!

Ok so I haven't finished the journalling - but it is the most complete class that I did! I will upload the rest of it at some stage :)

After such a busy day we headed back to the hotel for a nanna nap (after completing another make and take!). Then it was time to head back for the glimpses reception and then dinner!

Dinner was very small - only 30 people plus the tutors - which was lovely! Stacey Julian and Nic Howard sat with us and they were just so lovely!! I had a great night chatting away to them. It was so funny trying to explain Aussie way to Stacey! The whole alt meals and entree and main was a cause of confusion for her!

When dinner finished we headed back to the hotel (after some pics with Marie and Lyn - the EMM girls :) ), but we were too pumped from dinner to sleep! So did we head out for a night in the big smoke? Nah! We scrapped!! LOL. The last of the big party girls :)

Ok better post this in case I lose it and I will go onto Sun at a later time!
