A new job and an acceptance.

Well what a stressfull time it has been here of late!!

I went for the Head Teacher Science job at work after Ray had retired. I have been acting in the position since week 4.

Well the stress of writing the application was bad enough, then came the interview and thats where the fun began!

I got the job as far as the interview panel was concerned - BUT the dept wouldn't recognise my qualifications! Oh my goodness what a stress! They made the determination on the basis of my uni transcripts and because I did Applied Science (Food and Nutrition) I therefore did not have enough "straight" Science subjects to qualify! You can imagine how devestated I was!

Anyway to cut a looooong story short, I started an appeal process and was fed up, so rang straight to the source. After a conversation with her she decided to review my case and rang me just over an hour later to say it was all ok!

So I am now Head Teacher of Science as of last Friday.

My other good news is the Lo out of the gorgeous Jake further down this page has just been picked up by Scrapbook Creations Magazine! Very exciting stuff!

Oh well better wrestle two very overtired Boys to bed! Two working days till holidays!!

Kiwi Scraps part 2

OK onto the rest of the wonderful weekend!

Sunday saw us start off at 8:30am agin in Wendy Smedley's classroom. This time it was a class on journalling and we made a very cute mini album to record reasons why we scrap and journalling propts and ideas. It was a nice class - but a bit spoilt by a few who wanted to be noticed and carried on tring to bring as much attention to themselves as possible, gggrrrrrr.

Stacey Julian's Colour me Happy class was not at all what I expected (her class descriptions were a little vague) BUT I got a lot out of it. The little swatch books were fun to play with - and boy did I find out I am in a colour rut! PMSL!

I was so sad that we only had one class left :( But it was my third Nic Howard class!!!!! I so love her work and am just bursting with ideas now! This class was a stunning acrylic album that I just LOVE (although not as much as Marie does ;) ) It was just so much fun to make and the result is stunning (if I do say so myself!). I haven't finished it, but this is the cover...

So now it was time for our final club sandwich and to say goodbye to Marie and Lin as they headed off to the airport. Jeff was kind enough to pick me up so I could spend a night with them.

It was lovely to see Deb, Jeff and Jake two weekends in a row! He is such a gorgeous little boy as you can see I had a ball taking photos of him and reading with him!

Bugger that I have had to come home to the reality of two very overtired children, a house that looks like a bomb has gone off in it as I have basically not been home in three weeks and the prospect of a job application to get written! Arrgggggggg

Kiwi Scraps

OMG!!!! I had sooooo much fun! What a great weekend!!!!

Kath, Hannah and I trecked off Fri for the loonnng drive to Sydney town. Mind you we were a bit excited and laughed and were silly the whole way (naaahh that wouldn't be like us!).

It was sooo wonderful to finally meet Marie and Lyn from EMM - they are just as I imagined, full of fun!

We were the first in line for registration (told you we were excited LOL!) then grabbed a quick dinner in the bar. The meet and greet session was fun. This lovely lady came over for a chat with a strong American accent who turned out to be Wendy Smedley! She was the most delightful, friendly person! I had to book in and do more of her classes :)

The Scrap Happy kick of was a bit of fun. A bit ott at times - but I won a prize for dancing around like a loony - just normal me really! We made a scrap happy journal to record things to scrap that make us happy - kinda the theme for the whole shebang really.

The make and take for the night wasn't really my kind of thing. A set of very bright postcards that were made into a mini album by adding a photo to the back to match the saying on the front - kinda cute, but BRIGHT!

As we were all exhausted we didn't stay and crop, heading back to the hotel for some sleep instead (not that we got much thanks to noisy neighbours grrrrrr).

Sat morning we headed over bright and early for Wendy's class. We must have looked soooo funny wheeling our totes through the car park - I had to take pics of course!

Wendy class was lovely we made a wall display with a scrap motto and some pockets to place our inspirations - I would show you a pic, but as you will discover I haven't actually finished a project so will have to do so later!!

The next class was Nic Howards Conversations. Nic is just gorgeous!!!! I had a ball and came away sooo inspired. Her classes were definately my favs from the whole weekend. This class was a little book made from journalling cards to wrtie down those funny little conversations you have with the kids, funny events etc.

From there we headed into Stacey Julians Finishing Line class. This was the class I was looking forward to most - but left a little flat. I wasn't really happy with the work I did (although the class was fun and I really enjoyed the process). I like to plan a little more in my scrapping and will take on some of the ideas now that I have a firmer idea of the results!

Well by this time we were exhausted (all this was done by 1pm!) so we headed back to the bar for lunch. If you are ever at the Mecure grab one of the Club Sandwiches - MMmmmmmm. The quick recharge and relax on the comfy couches was definately needed!

The last class for the day was back with Nic and her "Confessions" album. I just LOVE the way this one has turned out!!

Ok so I haven't finished the journalling - but it is the most complete class that I did! I will upload the rest of it at some stage :)

After such a busy day we headed back to the hotel for a nanna nap (after completing another make and take!). Then it was time to head back for the glimpses reception and then dinner!

Dinner was very small - only 30 people plus the tutors - which was lovely! Stacey Julian and Nic Howard sat with us and they were just so lovely!! I had a great night chatting away to them. It was so funny trying to explain Aussie way to Stacey! The whole alt meals and entree and main was a cause of confusion for her!

When dinner finished we headed back to the hotel (after some pics with Marie and Lyn - the EMM girls :) ), but we were too pumped from dinner to sleep! So did we head out for a night in the big smoke? Nah! We scrapped!! LOL. The last of the big party girls :)

Ok better post this in case I lose it and I will go onto Sun at a later time!

Eight Years!

Yes! Jason and I have been married EIGHT years today.

It is funny to think - I am at a stage in my life when I just can't remember a time he wasn't by my side. Eight years seems such a long time, yet at the same time it is just a blink in our lives together. Ahhh I am just glad I have him!

I was also thinking how lucky we were with our bridal party. They were so supportive of us and helped us organise and carry out such a great day! Sharon and JOhn and the Boys may not be as close to us as they were then - but I am sure we will fix that someday soon. Hollie is still such a wonderful friend and support and Deb - well she and I are closer than ever. These days she is probably one of my closest friends!

We are going out to dinner tonight to celebrate (or just escape the kids for the night LOL) I am sooo looking forward to it. I LOVE going out to dinner :)

While we don't do presents these days (the new house is enough!) I did make him a card from a Tarisotta class:

Last night I also did this LO from the same class:

Not my usual style but fun!

Acceptances!!!

Oh I am loving For Keeps atm :) I got two emails from them today. One accepting my LO "Fear" of the two Boys on their first day of school. The second was to accept Camerons LO "Dads Old Ute". SO we are both to be in the Feb issue!

Can you tell I am excited??

I sawed him - He FLEW!!!

This says it all....

Happy Birthday Jason!

Well it was Jason's Birthday on Tuesday. I had Josh home, all covered in a rash so it was pretty low key this year. The Boys did have a ball decorating the cake Cam and I made though.

I took the pic on this LO after Jason blew out the candles - I love the identical look in all their eyes. I think it is saying "put the camera so we can eat" LOL

(sorry about the dodgy scan)

Last weekend of Soccer!!

Phewwww! Soo glad the soccer season is over!!!!! Don't get me wrong - the Boys did enjoy it (most of the time) and it was nice seeing them play - BUT I am over the drama and tantrums to get them ready, the tantrums to get them to stay on the field and play etc etc etc *sigh*

So today they were looking forward to going - until it was time to go and they started fighting and carrying on grrrrrr Then we got there and Josh hurt himself in the first 5mins (hit his face on the goal net as they warmed up).

Kath came to take some pics for us and so Cam was on his best behaviour - thanks heaps for that Kath!!! (mind you now I have seen the photos of myself as "soccer mom" I realise how much weight I have to lose!!!!! Eeekkkk).

Anyway, Cam scored our only goal early in the game (GO CAM!!!) I of course missed it as I was trying to keep Josh on task in the goals *sigh* But I did get some nice shots of them playing. That was until it was suggested that the goaly actually wore the goaly shirt - Josh went NUTS! He screamed cried etc etc etc - very very embarrassing. In the end one of the Dads gave him back the shirt! grrrrrr

At the end of the game they were SO excited to get their trophies - I am sure it is the only reason they played!!!

Book Week

Well the Boys had their first book week last week - Who ever came up with the idea of getting Mums all stressed out just so their kids can wear costumes that they are not even sure that they want to wear!! *sigh*

The theme was "Fairy Tales and Folk Lore" for the parade this year. Another big *sigh* as they are not high on this list of things to read here (in fact if there isn't a picture of a dead animal on the cover aka Sporting Shooter, it is unlikely to be even looked at by my two *insert eyerolling smilie here *).

So I put my thinking cap on, got out the book of fairy tales and went through it with the terrors. Cameron pretty quickly set his mind to being "Puss in Boots" so he could wear his spiderman gumboots to school for the day. Suited me fine! All I had to do was buy a few feathers for his hat and he was done (good thinking points go to Jason for thinking to use the batman cape!). Add one of my belts, a plastic sword and a stocking stuffed with newspaper tail and we were in business!

Josh was tricker to help! He had his mind set on being a cowboy. Now I cannot think of a fairy tale with a cowboy in it!! In the end I convinced him to be Jack and the beanstalk (the bribe of a whole bag of jelly beans as his magic beans helped!). Mind you he tells me in the arvo that he hid the bag of beans in his bag (after I had stayed up late to sew on out of an old pillowcase mind you!) and told everyone he was a cowboy *eyeroll*

Anyway here are the cool little dressed up Boys ready to face Book Week!

Quick Post

Just a quick post before I head off to work! I am helping the year ten "Gorgeous Girls" program today. We are making "beautiful books". Little positive affirmation books for them. Should be fun! I was up till midnight cutting and scoring all the card stock so it had better be!

The Boys are finally getting better here. All three have had this horrible flu and had most of last week at home. I thought I had escaped but am not feeling great this morning - bugger!

Oh well better head off - but thought I would share my two fav LO's of the moment.

I blame their father for the subject of this one!

Be back soon!

Published and other bits and pieces

Yep I know sorry all - I have been a slack Blogger of late. Will try and update a bit more often.

The house is coming along. Jason has finished most of what he can do at the moment. The tank has been installed (and is nearly full - can you believe it!) along with all the guttering, downpipes etc. The eaves are in. The cavity sliders installed. The baths in place. Doors ordered and so the house will be to "lock up" by the weekend. The plumber was supposed to start last week - so will hopefully turn up soon! Once he is done it is the electricans turn and then on to the interior!

The Boys are starting to get excited. The have been planning their rooms and what will go where. SO many funny questions. J "Mum will I get a cupboard?" His eyes were HUGE when I descibed his built ins. He then proceded to plan out his "Teddy Bedroom" bet that idea fades by the time we move in! C "Can I have a bookshelf? It needs to be big for my big books. Oh and all my trophies" Hmmm seems he has none as yet does this mean a sporting run soon??? Don't know if I can handle another 6 months of questions!

I was sooooo excited to be published again this month. This time in "For Keeps" magazine (issue 57 page 113). It is in the LO "pages without photos". C drew me a picture of myself so I HAD to scrap it. He is so excited now as he is published LOL!

Anyway better go!

Belated Birthday Wishes to my Boys

Yep I am slack again! The Boys birthday was back in June (21st to be exact!) and I still haven't posted pics.

They had a pirate party this year which was great fun! I made all the invites (couldn't resist the Stampin Up! stamps):

The party itself was fun. The kids made hats and swords and Jason buried "treasure" in the sandpit for them. Other than a pinata they all just ran around and played. I think they had fun, although as usual they hated the cake bit!

I just can not believe they are SIX! Where on earth does the time go???

Slack Blogger

Yep thats me a very slack blogger lately :( Time just gets away from me. With Head Teacher and this house I have no time left!

Well the house is going well! All the roof is on and the brickies have finished (except for the window sills) so I guess, when we buy doors, we are at lock up!!!!

Family wise we are all well. Jason has bought himself a camper trailer so we took it out for a night last weekend. We went to Cocoparra NP with Tash& Will and Will Parents. It was cold, but we had a great time. The CT passed the first test and we all slept well!!

Cam and Josh are still struggling at school. Things just don't seem to gel with them at all :( I really do not know how to help them at all. I guess time will tell.

I haven't scrapped much lately. Just too busy! I was hoping to go to the Happy SCrapper last night, but the Fri Fun was cancelled. I am teaching a class this week so I guess I will get a fix then! LOL.

I am teaching this LO at the end of the month too. It took soooo long to come up with, I am just not in a scrappers frame of mind atm.

And I love this LO of Jake - this is a Tarisotta Class, isn't it gorgeous!

Hmm better go and break up the lastest fight - I am sooo fed up with these Boys!!!

House update!

Thought it was about time I put an update on the house up for you all!

As you can see by the pics, we have finally got some rain, on the weekend the Boys were doing the roofing *sigh* If the guy who supplied the roof trusses had done them when he was supposed to it would have all been up by now too. Oh well at least there is progress!

Anyway - back to the things I should be doing, like cleaning the house LOL!
